*To be able to keep up with this class, it's preferred that you have a basic knowledge of calligraphy. If you attend the workshop right before this, this part is a great addition to your learning. Writing uppercase letters in calligraphy takes time to refine. We all struggle when writing them so in the workshop, armed with worksheets and guidelines, you can learn how to properly execute them.

You will learn:

• basic uppercase strokes (we’ll break down everything!)

• work on movement drills,

• how to combine uppercases and lowers,

• simple flourishing to enhance your capitals, and

• the different mediums you can use as inks for calligraphy.

What you need to bring

• A straight or oblique pen (whichever you are comfortable with)

• Nibs of your choice (bring a few).

What is provided (and you can take them home!)

• a small jar of quality walnut ink,

• a set of notes & worksheets,

• a set of lowercase and uppercase examplars,

• guidelines, and

• a handy dandy paper bag to take it all home!

Refreshments will be provided on the day.
